One of my favorite parts of being a children's heirloom portrait artist in the Raleigh area is working with clients again as they bring new babies into their families. Heirloom portraits are so special, and it's such an honor to be there for their first child's milestone and then continuing the legacy a few years later with another special portrait for their new little ones.

I did a pastel heirloom portrait painting for this family's oldest son two summer's ago, and recently saw them again to help them celebrate their youngest baby's first birthday with his own portrait. These brother's pastels are each so sweet and unique to them. I brought my mobile studio to their home, and when I rounded the corner of their driveway, this sweet baby was waving and smiling already! It took us less than 10 minutes to photograph his reference photos and then he was off to tackle the rest of the day! Choosing the final image for his pastel was tough because he's such a smiley little one, and his brother is more quiet and thoughtful in his portrait. This sweet image struck the perfect balance between the two though; his little personality just sparkles in it.
